To our Customers:

Our Coastal Instruments calibration facility in Burgaw, NC suffered heavy damage from a fire on July 26, 2011. I want to assure our customers, that while we did lose some of our equipment and inventory, there were no major injuries, and we still have our people and expertise. Our corporate computer and financial systems were unaffected as they are located in a separate building. In order to meet our immediate customer needs we are sending the work from the NC shop to our other locations in TX, AZ, and OR. We have always shared our work load with our other locations on an as needed basis and our company quality management system assures all work is done to the same specifications and procedures at all locations for all customers. We have systems in place to track the work done at any location with the same degree of detail as our NC shop, all data bases are shared , and all standards directly traceable to the NC shop. I am confident we will supply our customers with the same level of service as we have in the past, and I am prepared to send our most knowledgeable NC people to our other locations if necessary to meet our customer needs.

We have already procured a temporary location for our NC operations and we are in the process of reclaiming what equipment is usable, re-certifying all standards, and buying new equipment as necessary to get up and running quickly. I expect a significant level of customer support to be in place in the NC shop by August 15, 2011. Our objective is to make our recovery from this fire as transparent as possible to our customers.
